Healthy Quarantine Cooking Week 3
Guest Chef Emily Bush
Break out those blenders friends! Week 3 swirled in a flurry of frozen fruity flavor fabulousness! All thanks to Emily, her delectable fruit smoothie practically transported us from stay-cation to vacation with her chilling tropical refreshment! Smoothies are a great and easy way to drink your way to health! You can add all kinds of delicious fruit AND veggie combos that ensure a fresh & hearty on-the-go snack! We loved Emily’s smoothie recipe especially because she stuck with all the creamy smoothie classics! Follow Emily’s recipe, or tweak it and make it your own – either way, you’re sure to end up with a berry delicious smoothie!
½ ripe banana
¼ cup frozen blueberries
¼ cup fresh blueberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
½ cup milk
Prep all necessary ingredients. Carefully chop your banana half into slices & drop into the base of your blender.
Tip: The ripeness of your banana will effect how flavorful your smoothie is. If you love the rich banana flavor make sure to use an extra ripe banana for extra flavor!
Measure out your fresh & frozen blueberries. Drop them into the blender atop your chopped banana.
Tip: No fresh blueberries? No problem! More frozen blueberries will make your smoothie more icy and more like frozen yogurt!
Add in your frozen strawberries & top it off with your milk! Ensure your blender lid is tightly sealed & blend away!
Tip: Substitute cow’s milk for a nut, rice, coconut, or soy milk to make your smoothie dairy-free!
Serve & Enjoy Immediately!
Helpful Hint: Get creative with your smoothie flavors! Add spinach for a robust & healthy snack or stick with tropical fruits to send your taste buds on a flavor vacation!
